The main purpose of the Society is to support and assist Mr. Tamaya Shobei, thereby encouraging the preservation and development of artisanal culture in Japan by promoting Karakuri doll making.

• The Society's main activities are the publication of a biannual newsletter and management of the Society website.
• Support for the activities of Mr. Tamaya Shobei both in Japan and abroad.
• Organization of events, such as field trips to the Inuyama Festival.
• Exchange and learning activities such as the Karakuri Night School (classes for enthusiasts who want to learn more about Karakuri culture).
• An annual general meeting including lectures and a symposium.
• Other activities to promote Karakuri culture.
